*martha stewart?

Martha Stewart works at our local Tractor Supply Store. Not really, but she sure favors the tycoon.  I, of course, had to ask her if people comment on how much she looks like Martha.  I was not the first to notice the uncanny resemblance.  She laughed and said how awesome it would be to have the money that Martha Stewart has, she certainly would not be working at Tractor Supply Store.

She and I are practically best friends, I see her all the time (at the store) because it seems I am there frequently enough to develop a friendship!

*nablopomo

It is November, National Blog Posting Month and I have decided to participate again this year.  I am looking forward to a daily post, posting sometimes is great fun for me and some sort of connection or lifeline for family members.  If you have a blog, consider if your month will permit such a fancy as this.

*drunkards path -untouched

Well it is Wednesday night and I still have not even pulled out the quilt that I need to have FINISHED by mid December.  You know, the Drunkard's Path for my dad.  It is still borderless.  My dh was supposed to leave for a trip on military air yesterday afternoon.   I have sort of been in a holding pattern for two days now. I, of course, am not the only one effected by this constant on again, off again place we find ourselve in.  There are near fifty folks who will be on this trip, so... take what I have experienced  and multiply it times fifty+!

My day yesterday consisted of this:
* drove our son to school and back home
*drove my hubby to drop off location for travel & back home
*drove to pick up my hubby because of a delay
*drove to pick up our son from swim practice and then to dinner
*drove my hubby back to drop off location for travel
*drove home
*drove back to pick up my dear hubby because of a cancellation for the day (trying again the next day)
*drove home

Start of today:
*drove our son to school and back home
*drove my dear hubby to location for travel
*drove to pick up son from swim practice
*drove my son to mid-week services
*drove to pick up my dear hubby - another @#$! delay and another meal out
*drove to dinner with hubby
*drove to pick up son from mid-week services
*drove hubby back to location for travel
...home waiting for a possible call to DRIVE and pick him up so they can try again tomorrow.

I am tired of driving.
I am selling my car.

UPDATE (one hour after this blog post) *driving to pick up my precious beloved... flight pushed back 24 hours again!  I feel so badly for him.  Glad I didn't have any buyers on my car yet.... hehe

*fat free dressing

Excuse me?!

FAT-FREE Dressing? I thought the name of these garments was hilarious. I had to share. There were girdle type garments as well with the FAT FREE label, under tops and legging thingys - so you can be, well, FAT FREE.  If the price tag hadn't been so hefty I might have tried them for myself.

*gps... will travel..(and not get lost)

Recently I indulged a bit and purchased something that wasn't really necessary but necessary, if that makes any sense.  I will let you be the judge... A number of years ago I was planning a trip to visit some friends in Tennessee.  Car gassed up, map in hand, a navigator (Fallon, a young friend of mine) and the open road laid ahead of us.   The drive would be long, well a lot longer than we foreknew!  I think Kara, Henry and Fallon were just enjoying the drive and oblivious to all the wrong roads I had taken which took us to the top of some mountain... far away for our destination!  Poor Fallon had to console this, then thirty-something who was falling apart at the seams.  In my own defense... it was now dark and I had managed to get us up the mountain and the only way down was to DRIVE IN THE DARK back down the curvy unknow roads.  I did however give thought to staying over in a hotel until morning, but our fearless navigator rescued us!  Fallon was really a life saver on this trip, she took the  phone, got directions and literally led me out of that place we were in.  We did finally make it to the Nix family home and had a fantastic time while visiting.

On another occasion Robyn (Fallon's mother) and I were headed to the beach - this is when I found out I was in a situation of the blind leading the blind. It is also when I realized how Fallon had become so good at taking charge and directing like a pro.  I am happy to report that my friend Robyn now has a GPS as well (in fact it was her that spurred  me to buying mine) and now we can intrepidly travel til our heart is content

I am now looking forward to driving Henry to all of his swim meets across the state without fear that he will miss his first heat of each match.
