Pecan Orchards in Baker, Florida
(the photo was edited using Picasa - first one is SOOC, second was edited using the cross process, and the third was edited using the orton-ish edit. If you aren't familiar with Picasa, it is a free downloadable photo editing and storage software)

Henry and Tiffany (his sweet girlfriend), asked me to take some pictures of them sometime this weekend. The photo with Henry climbing the tree is very much a picture of who my son is.  We had a great time laughing, and capturing some great images!

These girls were just telling each other how grateful they are that they live at Erilyn Farm.
We hope you all had a great weekend, we certainly did!  May your week be better than you have even hoped for!

While living in NC we did get about one or two days of snow each year. This was the last big snow storm (cause it is always a storm when you get snow in Fayetteville NC), that we were to take part in.  We had the perfect property for snow, too bad it only snowed once or twice a year.  This storm took place in February of 2009.

This is one of our favorite spots on the American soil.  This place holds so much history for my dear husbands family for many generations back. It is my desire to one day take our (future) grandchildren here, to tell the stories of their fathers jumping, climbing and hiding in the beautiful rocks at Devil's Den, Gettysburg PA. To tell them of the  days when their grand father led me up Little Round Top at 6 months pregnant. To have told to them the days of when their great grandfather covered the grounds of the Gettysburg Battlefield and to have shown to them the places where their great grandfather and great great grandfather once lived.  Have a great week!

*scenic Sunday on Friday

I like all of you will likely be far from my computer on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and I know that I CAN go without posting a Scenic Sunday but I have some great pictures to share, so with that having been said, I present you with scenic Sunday on Friday!

This is Starlight, isn't she majestic? So beautiful, sweet and demure.

She even looks majestic when she is kicking up some dust.

But, Kierstyn and I both decided she was MUCH prettier when she kept her mouth shut.

I am not sure if she was tired or if she thought something was really funny.

Come on over the Farmchicks Farm Photo Friday, I shared this today at Farm Photo Friday..

Here are a few scenes from the barnyard today! We have 13 sweet baby rabbits that are doing awesomely. They are growing with leaps and bounds, just the past couple of days their fur has come in, eyes and ears have opened! It wont be long before they learn to jump out of the nesting box.

Our garden is minimal at this point, but the things we do have growing look amazing!  I have NEVER grown cauliflower before this year.  We have already harvest one head a few weeks ago. I think we will have a few more coming ready soon as well as some purple cabbage heads.

Tonight when I went out to take care of the evening barn chores, Mr. Baggins was nearby. Him being "nearby" can sometimes make me a bit nervous.  Mr. Baggins will sometimes show his bad side for no reason (that is apparent to me) at all.  He ALWAYS has his eye on you and you better always have your eye on him, you just never know what he is thinking.  Each time he starts acting shifty, I do my best to put him at ease by telling him how much I love his girls and that I have no plans to harm them.  Sometimes he buys it, and sometimes he doesn't.

I hope each of you have a great week!

Thought - for FREE: This week most likely many people will be in your path, just wondering if anyone cares... if in the midst of your busy day can you see their pain, their hurt, their need. They wont need you to be their Saviour but perhaps you can be a life preserve?  What will you do for Love's sake this week?

Scenic Sunday crept up on me again!   This past week Henry has been working on his annual Candy House Creation, though this year it was a Candy Mansion which has taken more time, more candy, more creativity, more cleaning - you get the picture!  Munchkin, aka Munchie, had a front row seat to the sweet action that was taking place during the construction of sweets.  About 4 years ago our oldest son, Robby saved Munchkin and brought him to our house to live. Robby deployed for a period of time and was going to get Munchkin when he got back. Well, he grew on us and more than a year passed before Robby could take him to live with him, so needless to say we just couldn't let him go. Is that mean? Of course, on certain days when Munch can't seem to keep his mouth shut we wish we had given him over to Robby.  He truly is delightful, he just has a loud mouth when he is hungry, or feeling alone.

Here is a close up of his "fangs".

I think here he must be thinking, something along the lines of, um when is snack time?
We have 6 Russian Blues and this one black cat. We never thought we would deviate from the Russian Blue breed once we got started with them, and although we didn't "choose" this cat we are so glad he came to live with us. He does bring us a lot of enjoyment along the way. (Candy Mansion pictures coming soon!) Have a super week!
