Franziska (and girls) drove us to Grandfather Mountain while on our visit to western North Carolina. I was expecting cooler air, but maybe not 45 degrees. It was great, I am not complaining but a bit surprised that it was so cold! While we were in the Grandfather Mountain we saw a couple of bears, thankfully they were down in a safe (for us) area in which we could view them and feed them. They were awesome, lazy but awesome. One of the bears in particular would not move if he missed catching a piece of the food that we were tossing at him. He would just put on a show and patiently wait for more, because I am sure he knew it was coming. These bears were not with out food.
