*It is well

Difficulties will come, this is told to us by the Word of God, so this we know we cannot escape.  I bet you have had times that seem to knock you off your feet, shake your faith a bit, and then you settle down into His arms.  It is the only safe place, that you can find peace.  I encourage you today if your world have been rocked a bit, settle in with the True God, snuggle in and hold on. Even if things around you seem askew, and you don't have answers to some of the questions that are stampeding around in your precious head, it can be well with your soul.  It is a choice you have to make, an action has to take place regarding the happenings that has rocked you.   Because I know that God is not sleeping, He is not on vacation, He is alert and my troubles rest in His lap so it can be well with my soul.   It doesn't take the pain and hurt away, but God restores.

  1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
    When sorrows like sea billows roll;
    Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
    It is well, it is well, with my soul.

    • It is well, with my soul,
      It is well, it is well, with my soul.
    •
  2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
    Let this blest assurance control,
    That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
    And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
  3. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
    My sin, not in part but the whole,
    Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
    Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
  4. For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
    If Jordan above me shall roll,
    No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
    Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
  5. But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
    The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
    Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!
    Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!
  6. And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
    The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
    The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
    Even so, it is well with my soul.

  3. Sue, I am glad you stopped by and enjoyed this. I was given the Chris Rice Hymn CD just this past week. I of course, have heard and enjoyed this hymn for years, but not knowing as she was giving it, how timely the gift would be. It sits in my iTunes lineup and I hear it every morning. Enjoy the study of digging deeper. Lord bless you.

  4. Thank you, Lynnie. I too came here on BillieBee's recommendation, and that beautiful song, along with your uplifting words, were just what I needed today. My dear husband of 40 years died suddenly last month and I'm learning to live without him. As you can imagine, its a daily struggle not to feel sorry for myself but to look to God for my strength. Bless you!
