And the Winner is Cherry Blossoms and Reynolds11103!~
Please contact me to claim your prize! Thanks to every one who participated.  Next giveaway coming in a few weeks..

Critter giveaway coming at ya! I have been having a blast making all kinds of different critters. There are so many free patterns available on the internet, as well as using my own creativity to develop some myself. My cats as you can imagine are loving that all of my scrap pieces of material lay out carelessly on the guest bed in my sewing studio. They find me in the sewing studio more here of late and I think they like the hum of my sewing machine. You can usually find at least two, if not three or maybe four in the room with me. I love it!

OK, on to the prize entry: Leave a comment that states your favorite holiday and why. If you want two entries, follow my blog and I will add your name twice. Thanks for participating! The giveaway closes midnight, September 30th.  The winner can choose from one of the two shown!

  1. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love the celebration of the birth of our savior Jesus and love the warmth that I feel when I am with my family. I can't help but retrace Mary's journey to Bethleham each year....but even more when I was due with our 2nd child (and 1st son). What a wonderful blessing to be able to celebrate our saviors birth! ~Carlie K.

  6. My favorite holiday is Valentine's Day. I do agree that it is FAR too commercial, but it's still nice to have an entire day set apart for love. My husband makes it a BIG deal every year, and I think I look forward to it more than I do any other holiday in the year. His goal is to spend little to no money and make the day memorable. We are high school sweethearts and in the 9 years we've been together, I can tell you every gift and every activity from every year. We now have 2 little boys and he makes sure they are involved in the activities as well. Love isn't just for couples. It's for everybody! But in the end, after the boys are in bed for the night, the tradition since the first V-Day is to eat Boston Creme Pie and sit in a homemade blanket tent in front of the fireplace and just talk. *sigh* Already can't wait until next year!!

  11. My favourite holiday is Christmas. Isn't everyone's? :O I love it because I adore buying things for people, finding 'the perfect present' for someone gives me a weird adrenaline rush! I love seeing their faces when they open their presents and the excitement in their faces just before I open mine because they need to see if I love it (which I always do, it's impossible to hate presents :P). I also love it because a house down the road from us always goes OTT on the decorations; they once had an 8ft snowman and covered every inch of their house in fairy lights!

Those critters you make are adorable. Even if I don't win, thanks for giving me a smile :)

  14. My favorite holiday used to be Christmas but lately Halloween has started to rank higher. I'm really interested in Halloween decorating. I want to try a pumpkin head scarecrow this year.

  15. Hi Lynette. I thought I would join in. Thanksgiving is my whole family's favorite holiday. My mother started the tradition of gathering us all together for that special day, and that allowed us to have a guilt free Christmas with our immediate families. I love love love planning the meal and cooking it with my sisters, and then visiting with all the new babies and wives that a clan of 5 kids, 16 grandkids and who know how many great grandkids can generate. I know my mom looks down on us and smiles when we are together on Thanksgiving. Miss you!
